Hearts and bows

Faces and brackets

Flowers and friends

Marked items were added to Unicode in 2020 or later and can show as empty boxes on devices that have not been updated since.

The building blocks of cute text

Many cute symbols are borrowed letters. The bow ୨୧ is two Odia digits, the butterfly ʚɞ is two phonetic letters, and the rounded brackets ꒰ ꒱ come from the Yi script. With hearts and small marks they make faces and frames, such as ꒰ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ꒱.

Rendering on older phones

Because these characters come from many different scripts, an older phone may be missing one of them and show an empty box. Symbols marked with a small dot were added to Unicode in 2020 or later and are the most likely to cause this.

Using them in names

Short frames work best in usernames and nicknames: ୨୧ name ୨୧, ʚ name ɞ or ♡ name ♡. For longer pieces, the cute combos page has ready-made sets for bios and captions.
