QR code generator
Make a QR code for a link, some text, a Wi-Fi network, an email, a phone number, a text message or a contact card, and download it as a PNG or an SVG. Everything happens in your browser, and there is nothing to sign up for.
Fill in the form to make your code.
On a phone you can also press and hold the image to save it.
What the code contains
Static codes that never expire
These are static QR codes: the content is written into the pattern itself. Nothing sits between the code and the content, so the code keeps working for as long as the printed copy lasts, with no account, subscription or redirect service behind it.
The other side of that is that a static code cannot be edited once it is printed. If the address or the details change, make a new code.
Test before you print
Scan the downloaded code with at least one phone camera before you print it or send it out. Check that the link opens the right page, the Wi-Fi joins the right network or the contact card shows the right details. Print it at least 2 cm across, and larger if people will scan it from a distance.
Colours and error correction
Dark codes on light backgrounds scan most reliably, and the generator warns you when the contrast is low or the colours are inverted. Keep the quiet zone, the empty border around the code, at four modules or more.
Error correction lets a code survive dirt and damage. M, the default, recovers about 15 percent of the code and suits most uses. Choose Q or H for codes printed outdoors or on curved surfaces, at the cost of a denser pattern.
Nothing leaves your device
The code is drawn in your browser. What you type is never sent to SymbolMint or stored, analytics record only which kind of code was downloaded, and we cannot see the codes you make or how often they are scanned.
Scan with care
A QR code can lead anywhere. Before you scan one in public, check that it has not been stuck over the original. When you make codes for others, write the destination next to the code, such as the website name, so people know what to expect.
