Fancy text generator

Type your text and see it in 30 styles: bold, italic, script, gothic, bubble, small caps, upside down and more. Tap a style to copy it, then paste it anywhere that accepts text.

How it works

Each letter you type is swapped for a different Unicode character that looks like a styled version of it, so no font is involved. Most come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, which exists so that mathematicians can use bold, script and fraktur letters as separate symbols. The bubble, wide, small caps and upside-down styles use other ranges of lookalike characters, and the line styles add a combining mark after each character.

Because the result is real text, it pastes into bios, names, comments and messages without any special app. Letters and digits are converted; punctuation and spaces mostly stay as they are, except in the wide and upside-down styles. Some styles, such as squared and black bubble, only have capital letters, so lowercase letters are shown as capitals.

Where styled text works

Instagram, TikTok, Discord, X, Facebook posts and most messaging apps display these characters. Some fields refuse them, especially usernames, and a few games show them as empty boxes. On older phones the newest characters, such as the superscript q, may be missing from the system fonts.

Accessibility

Screen readers do not read styled letters as words. VoiceOver and TalkBack may spell out each character by its Unicode name, such as mathematical bold capital H, or skip it altogether. Use fancy text for a short decoration, not for information people need, and keep your main message in plain letters.

Search has the same problem: in-app search and search engines usually treat styled letters as different characters from plain ones, so a name written in bold letters may not be found by someone typing it normally.

Privacy

The conversion happens in your browser. What you type is not sent to SymbolMint or anyone else, and it is not saved. Analytics on this page record only which style was copied, never the text.
