Pixel caption
Type a line to set it in a blocky pixel typeface, like the text on an old games console or a computer terminal. Pick a colour scheme, turn the scanlines on or off and choose a size.

Where it works
Pixel captions suit gaming posts, stream announcements, playlist covers and anything with a retro feel. Short lines work best: the typeface is wide, so a few words fill a square post, while longer text is set smaller to fit.
Colour schemes
The presets borrow from classic screens: green on black like a terminal, amber on dark brown like early monitors, dark green on olive like a handheld console, and yellow on navy for an arcade feel. Scanlines add thin dark bands across the image; turn them off for a cleaner look.
Font
The typeface is Silkscreen by Jason Kottke, released under the SIL Open Font License and served from this site.
